Introduction
Intellectual Output 2 of STONE project is to identify the better way to create a fully tried and tested ‘ready to run’ training programme specifically tailored to young people not in education, employment or training (NEET) as well as for other adult learners with fewer opportunities. A pilot testing workshop was organized in each partner country with participation of minimum 15 participants of the STONE target group (adult educators, youth workers, trainers, vet providers) where they had the opportunity to discuss the topics of the courses and give feedback regarding the resources and the learning materials.
Participants
Our organization, 4obs Consulting, organized the pilot workshop on the 10th of May 2022 in Larissa, Greece.
Fifteen (15) participants attended a free 3-hour workshop program on Modules 6 (Transdisciplinary approach) and 8 (Cognitive load management) of IO2 Targeted Training Package for Adult Educators. All trainees are certified adult educators. All participants were informed about the date and the start time of the workshop, while all the required documents that needed to be filled in were sent to them through email.
Scope and Duration
The pilot tests aimed to validate the quality of the material developed under IO2. The workshop took place at a public school in Larissa via face-to-face and the duration of the program was three (3) hours (18.00- 21.00). The host of the training session was a certified adult educator with great experience specialized in ICT and Digital means.
The structure of the training session was:
- Presentation of STONE project
- Presentation of Intellectual Output 2
- Presentation of Module 6 (Transdisciplinary approach).
- Presentation of Module 8 (Cognitive load management).
- Processes involved (e.g. training tools, equipment)
The Modules, their resources and the related exercises were discussed by the trainees at each step in order to be evaluated and give the most effective and convincing feedback.
Key Outcomes
The workshop was considered successful both in terms of the material used, the objectives of the program, the activities that were shared and the educator, responsible for the training session. The presentations and the resources received a lot of positive reviews, as they were considered simple, understandable, smart and very helpful. The participants also felt that the activities were largely related to the Modules, while at the same time helping the educational process and enriching the learning process. The content of both the theoretical and the practical part serves the objectives of IO2. The educational material serves the learning process and contributes to the goals of educational outcomes.
